A spiral steel pipe is a carbon steel pipe welded using the Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) method, where the weld seam forms a helical shape similar to a spring. This process allows the production of large-diameter and long-length pipes, typically ranging from 200 mm to 3,000 mm in diameter with wall thickness between 4.50 mm and 19.10 mm.
Double-side welded spiral pipes can withstand up to 25% higher pressure than straight seam welded pipes of the same wall thickness.
Spiral steel pipes, commonly used as large-diameter water transmission pipes or irrigation pipes, are manufactured using the SAW process. The spiral weld seam makes these pipes ideal for:
